Master Guide Development
Pathfinder Leadership Award
This is the first of two advanced courses for invested master guides and is conducted in two weekend sessions with an interval of several weeks between sessions where part of the course is completed by private study and assignment completion. One of the weekend sessions will comprise seminar type presentations and the final session will involve first aid and CPR training by the Jamaica Red Cross
Instructor Development Program
This program is primarily for instructors in charge of Master Guide Training Centers, but is useful for pathfinder and adventurer instructors as well. The program addresses the structure, requirements, and conduct of the master guide training program, and presents information of the way individuals learn, and different approaches to maximize the benefit of the instruction process.
Enhanced Participation Options
Invested master guides are eligible to participate in the Skill Development Seminar, which is a new requirement on the training profile. They may also become involved as training center or outdoor skills instructors, as drum corps or drill squad members, or in the various outreach and witnessing projects across the parish.
